From 22-25 March 2017, researcher from ten different countries (Britain, Finland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Hungary and Germany) came together for a special and fruitful workshop on: “GIS-based cartography – A change of media or a change of paradigms for Historic Towns Atlases?
A whole range of topics was presented, discussed and compared, helping to put it in perspective. The workshop programme covered following main topics:
Wednesday, starting in the early afternoon, was dedicated to introductions and broader perspectives on GIS and interactive mapping. Thursday was about the steps of HTA production, Friday on GIS-based research and Saturday on various issues pertaining to future work, and the final discussion.
